Little Rose

This summer has been extremely hot. I am taking a science class this summer so I don't have to take it during the upcoming school year as this will be my most busy year (I start teaching in classrooms this year!) Anyway, I have found that the easiest (and breeziest) way to dress for class this summer is to throw on a dress and call it a day. I found this dress for only $12 at the beginning of summer at Rainbow, which really has some goodies from time to time. I mean, they are known for having 2 for $20 shoes, sandals, and flats in all colors, where else can you find a deal like that? I've had this thrifted clutch since high school and I always find myself grabbing it in the summer. This particular day I had a lovely dinner with my friend Linda as well.

So what's thrifted? Clutch $1.99

Have a lovely weekend,
Sophia

Summertime Chic

Thrifted: small black shoulder bag, LOFT shorts
When I encountered these shorts I could not have been happier! Cute, black, professional-looking shorts, that fit perfectly and had pockets? What more could I ask for! To make a more summery outfit  I chose a salmon top to pair it with. The top is from Rainbow and it is very light and airy with an interesting semi-open back. To tie it all together I chose this black necklace that I got while I was taking a class in Ecuador, and threw on my thrifted black purse. Super cute, comfy, and cool for a hot summer's day!

Autumn in Central Park

Thrifted: colorful fall scarf
How lucky are we as college students to be able to spend a day in NYC and see a Broadway show all for $20.00! Sophia and I went and had a marvelous day! While there we decided to take advantage of the beautiful scenery in Central Park and we captured these beauties. Although my trench coat wasn't thrifted I got it at Kmart for such a low price. Originally $50.00 and I got it for $10.00!

Funky Foliage

Thrifted: floral print shorts
Hello everyone!  I was thrilled when I found this item and realized it was a pair of shorts rather than a skirt. Who doesn't love funky printed shorts! We apologize for the time we've been away, but we plan to get back on track.

Keep it thrifty,
Sarah

Step Into Fall

So I am going to start by saying no one has any idea how badly I have wanted booties like these. I am not into wearing heels around campus and always wished I could find a pair that are not too tall-then bam! I was surprised to find them at Forever 21 while out with my family trying on some bridesmaids dresses for my cousin's wedding. This scarf is one of my favorites and I bought it years ago in a little shop in Chinatown. Fall around campus is looking beautiful.

So what's thrifted? Dress $6

Black and White

Finding an awesome skirt is awesome in general. It is even better when this skirt is only $4...and brand new. This is my favorite skirt that I own. It goes with pretty much everything and I'll never forget that I got it thrifted for $4 brand new with tags on it for $34.99.
It's getting a little more chilly out here so full knitted sweaters and tights are a good way to stay warm :).

So what's thrifted? Skirt $4, Bag $4.

Ray of Sunshine

\
Since we've been back at college the weather has been pretty gloomy. Today was the first day it was sunny and nice, it was a perfect opportunity to wear my new $15 dress from Marshall's and enjoy the beautiful day!

Rainy Day Daises

This dress is probably one of my favorite articles of clothing that I own right now. It's so fun and it's a good length. A lot of dresses coming out now are a little too short for comfort. Being more practical about length and making sure I will feel comfortable walking around the city or campus has saved me a lot of money when it comes to dresses. Whatever makes you feel comfortable! Anyway, this dress, which is from my favorite website ASOS, was originally $49 but I waited until it went on sale and got it for $19!
I already had my outfit all ready for the day but when Sarah and I got up to go downtown....it was thundering and pouring. We refused to not go and threw on some boots instead. I felt a little weird for wearing boots in August but when I didn't have to worry about my feet getting wet....I was happy I wore them.

So what's thrifted? Bag $4, Belt $2. Other outfit details: Dress, Asos

Have a great day,

Sophia

A Rainy Day Downtown

We live about 10 minutes away via EL train from Center City and our favorite place to go is usually first Chinatown then Old City. Since were going back to school soon, we're trying to soak up as much city as we can (even if that means we literally had to get soaked from the rain haha). We made a trip to Buffalo Exchange to sell some things there(we might be making a post about BE soon) and then headed to get some Pho and check out some of the shops. Typical city day.

Poppy Flowers

When I found this dress, let's just say it did not look like this. I found this at the Goodwill in the children's section, let's start with that. It was guaranteed to be more childish-it came with two huge puffy sleeves on each side. However, I couldn't put it back. The cut out back was speaking to me and I knew it had some potential. Therefore, it came home with me and I snipped off those sleeves and then actually used the sniped off sleeve as a belt to pull the dress in more at the waist because it had a higher waist to begin with. Don't ever put down something that you think has some potential! ;) This bag is also thrifted, a find that I wear quite often because I love the color.

I hope you are all feeling lovely

Sophia

Geometric Design

Thrifted: skirt and belt
I like the skirt's shape and the length, not too many skirts are this long. It's cute with an eclectic vibe. I also dig the pleats.

Thrifted: blazer and bag
This is definitely a favorite dress of mine! It's so fun, colorful, and versatile. I just recently got the blazer at the thrift store and I love it! It's such a great color and its a nice material and fit.
